Thinking about FAMILY…

Summer is family vacation time. Some families still hold family reunions. Of course, if you have school age children August is time to go shopping and get all those things the kids need for a new school year.

Everyone’s family is at least a little dysfunctional. Someone is moody or someone is lazy. Someone wears their feelings on their sleeve and someone is always obsessing about the details and driving the rest of the family crazy. Brothers and sisters fight with each other. Mom and Dad don’t always see eye to eye on issues. But when crisis comes most families unite in a way that is strange and wonderful. Brothers may fight but if an outsider picks on little brother watch how big brother comes to defend him.

We like to call our congregation a church family. We could consider ourselves an organization, we could consider ourselves a mission but we call ourselves family...(read more)
